My father, Archie (L) was born in Edinburgh in 1921. After leaving school, he worked on the railways, spent time in India and Burma during WW2, and later worked in the electronics industry.

He married my mother, Helen, in 1951, and they had three children - Valerie, Douglas, and myself, John.

He died in Edinburgh's Western General Hospital in 1995.
